A new upcoming sim racing wheel or wheel rim has been teased by peripheral manufacturer Thrustmaster through its social media platforms.
The teaser shot does not disclose any product specifics, but clearly outlines the shape of a racing wheel in the formula/endurance theme. The image seems to reveal an open side grip configuration, thumb-controlled rotary encoders, thumb push buttons, and split paddle shifters with some imagination, which may suggest that wheel-mounted clutch paddles also feature the wheel.
In addition, the teaser post also contains the number 2021, which most possibly points out that next year we should expect to see the wheel launched somewhere.
A formula-style wheel in the shape of the Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-on, which was a full-size replica of the Formula 1 Ferrari 2011 racing wheel, was previously published by Thrustmaster under Ferrari's official license. For the Thrustmaster T500, T300, and TX wheelbases, the wheel was suitable for use.
As the latest, and mostly plastic, Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-on does not exactly represent the current sim racing requirements, a new formula wheel would be most welcome.
